There's nothing worse than driving at night, only to have a vehicle come up behind you that has their headlights on a bright level. Even driving behind you with then normal lights on can cause a pretty disruptive glare that can distract you from what's going on around you. If you've recently invested in a vehicle from Porsche of Kings Automall, you may have automatically dimming rearview mirrors that can assist. Here's how that technology actually works.
Manufacturers build a sensor into a vehicle that will monitor what kind of light and glare is present. This information will be relayed to your mirror so it can change accordingly. Gel that is placed inside of the two panes of your mirror will react to an electromagnetic charge that is provided by a low voltage supply of power. The effect can be reversed when the glare is gone.
